About Me

My name is Janet Joffe. I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Chudleigh, Devon. I choose an integrative approach because it gives me the flexibility to provide you with the most effective methods and techniques that suit you giving you the best opportunity to discover your own inner resources and the results you desire. I work with adults, young people and children.

 If you have never had therapy before, it can be difficult to know what to expect. Working with me you will find a warm and safe environment to share and explore your thoughts. My role is to explore with you using a non-judgemental, compassionate, and kind way, so that together we can start to make sense of your feelings and concerns at your own pace. Together this process may open up opportunities for growth and change, it may help you discover new options and decide what changes you wish to make, and support in coping with those that can’t be changed.

I have extensive experience working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in the following:

  • Adopt Southwest (Approved Adoption Counsellor and Psychotherapist)

  • Special Guardianship Support Services

My qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Person -Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Gestalt Therapy)

  • Diploma in Working Therapeutically with Young People

  • Advanced Specialist Diploma in Psychotherapy

She was experiencing intense physical symptoms of anxiety resulting in missed school days and separation anxiety. Jan has helped her understand why her body and mind are behaving in certain ways and explained techniques to help control the anxiety. My daughter always looks forward to seeing Jan and discussing any challenges in her life. Jan ensures the sessions include humour where possible and games to put my daughter at ease while they discuss everything. Jan is incredibly positive with a wonderfully kind nature and we wouldn't have made such progress without her. Her studio is warm and cosy and my daughter recently said if she won the lottery she would pay for all her teenage friends to come and see Jan!!
